Revit 2026.2 does not respond when opening default German template file

Hey, I am experiencing a persistent issue when opening one of the default template files in Revit 2026.2 German version (specifically: BIM_Architektur_und_Ingenieurbau-Vereinfacht.rte).

When I try to start a new project using this template, Revit opens the workspace, but nothing loads, and the software becomes unresponsive. This only happens with templates — if I start a blank project, Revit works perfectly.

I tested this on two different systems (including a high-performance new machine with an NVIDIA RTX 5070), reinstalled Revit and all Microsoft dependencies, updated all drivers, and tried replacing the .RTE with a working version from my old laptop. The problem persists on the new system. I don't know what else to do. What could be the reason for this issue?

Try a different oob template. Or try your own template. Report if that shows the same behavior.

A template is nothing but a project with pre-determined settings and/or families loaded.

Revit Version: R2026.4.2
Hardware: i9 14900K, 64GB, Nvidia RTX 2000 Ada 16GB
Add-ins: ElumTools; Ripple-HVAC; ElectroBIM; Qbitec

I tried it, but it's all the same. It works only when I start a blank project, without a template.

So, I finally solved the problem following the steps from this link: https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Revit-Journal-reco...
Try to find the Journals and read them, that's where I found what's making Revit crash when opening the template.
