Revit 2025 - Floor and Toposolid do not show the folding edges while editing....

Hei everyone,

it is a little thing but it really irritate me so much....

In revit 2025 it happend something which irritates me so much because it makes my work flow much more slower. In previous ver. av Revit it was common that when i had every lines visibility for forexample Floor types checked out when i went to editing floor or toposolid all edges were showed and i could manipulate them. When i were finished with editing thev were gone from general view. It is not so in ver. 2025 saddly enough....

To unhide these lines i need to turn on all lines from Visibility graphics which is a little bit pain in the ass. Pictures under show what i mean 🙂

Any idea what went wrong or Autodesk did this deliberetly?

Thanks a lot for help in advance!

Kind regards

Shemekk

Those lines are the Folding Lines, why do you need to uncheck everything? Their subcategory should suffice unless you have something else in that floor. Nonetheless, although they might be practicle, folding Lines do not necessary have to be visible when adjusting sub-elements/points, they are technically driven by the points.

If these lines are initially turned off, it indicates that the view is in shaded mode, where the tessellations of the floor's surface are already visible in varying shades. This eliminates the need for the lines to be displayed if the issue is visuals. For views in hidden line mode, switching to shaded mode can make it easier to see the tessellations, thereby simplifying the process of modifying sub-elements.

Alternatively, using view templates to have a view for editing and a view for visuals might help in having the best of both worlds

To put it more straight forward when these line er not visible in editing floor mode i cannot manipulate floor/toposolid so effectiv floor like it was before.... see the pictures which i send and see the difference. Why the change that?

I'm Landscape architect who is using this tools constantly in a daily basis, mayby for regular Architect it does not matter it is activated or not in the view becouse building is so geometrinc but not terrain round....

I apologize if I misunderstood your original question.

In your post, you mentioned that to show the folding lines, you needed to unhide all lines. My question was why this is necessary when it seems that only one subcategory controls their visibility.

As for why the behavior might have changed, I assume it could be for one of the following reasons:

  • Possibility 1: For Consistency. The logic might be that if the visual settings in a view are set to hide certain lines, they should remain hidden. If that's the case, you can work around this in a couple of ways:
    1. Option A: Use a second view specifically for editing, where all lines are visible in the visibility graphics. This approach is common for coordination views.
    2. Option B: Apply Temporary View Properties in the same view. You can even set multiple temporary properties for different situations.

  • Possibility 2: it could also be a bug or a glitch which they will fix in the following updates. Unless they have a good reason or some limitation not to if it might cause other issues.

Thank you very much for your response. I like it but for me it is a little bit to much kliking over views....

I was thinging a bit about it and I found solution selv actually.... it is only to make this folding lines white

and set a Hidden line Graphic display:

It works very well for me 😉 so i can say

Case closed 🙂

If that approach works for you sure why not...when one is working alone that could work but when collaborating with other and thats the only working view, some people might be wondering what is going on...you can find lots of these posts on this forum

Anyhow, its good you are satisfied that workaround
