Revit 2025.4.2 Will not open Cloud project for Single User on single project

Hello -

I am having a Revit issue that my team and I are stumped on. I received a blue screen while trying to sync my cloud project in Revit 2025.4.2 which completely crashed my computer. It rebooted to the BIOS screen at which point I did a hard restart and everything started up normally. I appeared to have no other issues except in Revit 2025.4.2 where I am the only user now unable to open a project in the cloud. This is happening ONLY on my computer and ONLY in that one project. My other cloud project in Revit 2025 opens without issue. I have done all the troubleshooting I can find:

  1. All users are on the same update.
  2. Close all worksets & try to open
  3. Disable Plug-ins
  4. Open with Audit
  5. Relinquished Assets
  6. Check the journals for specific messaging
  7. Clear Caches
  8. Clean uninstall & reinstall
  9. Clean uninstall & reinstall of earlier version Revit 2025.2
  10. I've gone to my colleagues' computers and logged into my account and was able to open the project successfully, sync'd, and I still cannot open the project on my own computer
  11. I was made an admin on the project, although it was found that somehow my name had disappeared from the access list

The first error message I received after the initial crash said that the project data had been corrupted and needed manual recovery. Since I uninstalled and reinstalled, the error message changed to "This operation could not be completed. Please try again." while it is trying to load the architectural host. It fails here every time.

Has anyone run into this? Are there any other troubleshooting options I have?

What you have is a corrupt cache in one of the folders.

Try this:

1. Make sure you have at least 100GB of free disk space on C:\ drive - this is the minimum. You will need more if the project model sizes are in the GB zone.

2. Do not remove ANY files or folders named 'Autodesk' or 'Export' from the Addins folder C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2025 - if you did, add them back

3. Uncheck ALL projects from 'My selection' list in the Desktop Connector - check them back (one at a time) later after a restart.

4. Close ALL Autodesk software, then, in the  %LocalAppData%  rename the folder Autodesk,_Inc to Autodesk,_Inc-OLD

5. In the folder  %LocalAppData%\Autodesk\Revit\PacCache\  delete ONLY the folders with long names.

6. In the folder  %LocalAppData%\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit 2025\  delete folder CefCache and RENAME CollaborationCache TO CollaborationCache-OLD

7. In Revit options, if the path to local cache has been modified, please reset it. See screenshot below.

Notes:

a. Update Revit to the latest 2025.4.2  later. The build does not matter in this case, but being on the latest build is critical.

b. Avoid uninstalling Revit. Your issue is very common and we see it every day, but re-installing Revit can become a day-long ordeal.

c. If none of the above solutions solves this, then disable all addins using Revit 2025's own Add-Ins Manager - rogue addins are very common these days 🙄😂

Oh my goodness, you solved this more simply and more quickly than the Autodesk Expert Chat could. I've been fighting with this issue for days! Really appreciate your help!
