I just installed R2025.2 and tested it on a project. There were no options to select (or un-select) options. When starting up Revit, I get this error indicating the Insight extension is missing:
Here it says 2025.2 doesn't' need an extension for insight:
Our account shows those three insight types, but no way to download (and Green Building Studio website looks like from the 1990s' unlike the other Insight pages)
I don't know if that is related to the energy report at all, but that part apparently doesn't' work:
At minimum the Autodesk website isn't' really up to date for the fact that SP2 should include this already.
where do I get it? Or is that error shown in error (pun intended)?
On past projects in R2024 I wasn't' able to use the energy settings either. There I had an error about openstudio is missing. And I found out why. When I installed R2025, I paid attention in Eventviewer and saw the Openstudio-msi file was blocked by Applocker and I had to have IT allow that. But I confirmed it actually installed the second time I tried.
And does insight have anything to do with the energy simulation capabilities? I'm getting confused by the 200 software Autodesk has that may or may not apply to older or newer Revit versions.
When I install what they let me download, i get this indicating it is already installed. this makes sense, since SP2 allegedly includes this.
but if it is installed, why do i get the error in the OP that says it is missing?
I don't' have the "carbon Insights" buttons shown in the link you shared
the add-ins folder seems to have a Carbon analysis add-in (not sure if this is Insight)?
Hum? If it ain't there, I'm thinking a Revit.INI setting. That's where I would look first.
...this is why I am thinking INI file:
Try closing Revit, deleting your user INI file and relaunching.
...don't worry. Revit will build a new user INI. If you are reticent, rename the existing to remove the "ini" extension.
Thanks. I did that and it created a new "ini "file. But it came with the same error.
Right now I think I just ignore the error and hope this is just a bug in Revit since including "Insight" in Revit is new for SP2. On the other hand I don't' like to just "hide "a problem.
Has anyone else on R2025.2 have had the same problem?
