Hello!
I am experiencing an issue rendering a 3d-view in Revit 2024, but only once decals have been added to the model.
To clarify, I have a model I've been able to render without issue.
I then added some decals to represent signage.
After doing this, whenever I render, the process starts but gets stuck at level one and cannot complete it beyond some arbitrary percentage (0% - 0.17%). This flickers back and forth.
I've attached a screenshot of the render-process (having let it sit for three hours).
If I remove the decals, the same render takes less than 30 seconds.
The decals in question are linking two separate .PNG-files (the largest being 3100x400 px).
I am able to render in the cloud, but this isn't a solution in my case.
It does however seem to be indicative of a bug rather than user error.
Hope someone is able to help!
If you convert the PNG to JPG decal, does that also make the render go extremely slow?
Yes, the issue persists when I convert to .JPG-format.
I wouldn't call it slow, as that would imply progress, it stays at level one of one, flickering between 0.0% and 0.17%. As if constantly hitting some sort of error and restarting, without actually throwing an error.
Maybe moving the image to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Materials\Textures\1\Mats folder would help.
Upload the image and see if I get the same issue.
I've attached "blacked out" versions, but these produce the same results and are tested in the same way.
Thank you for offering to try it out!
It appears me being new to Revit is the issue, but I'll write incase anyone experiences the same issue in the future.
At some point it seems the "view" itself became corrupted. This is apparently a known issue,
Using a different 3d-view I was able to render the view and the decals just fine (having converted them to .jpg before which I still believe is sound advice).
Thank you to syman2000 and barthbradley for chipping in so quickly!
