Revit 2024 - No Contours in Elevation View

Like the title says when you Go into elevation view topography does not appear as contour lines. It just appears as a messy partial outline of some of the topography.

It looks good in perspective.

elevation views that I have set up are in fine detail and I do not see any options for showing more detail of the topography. none of the views are cropped.

If anyone knows how to make the topography visible in elevation view, would love the tip. I did not have this issue with the old topo

Since you're using 2024 I assume you have a Toposlid? The first thought is of course if you have contours made visible in V/G Graphics (Red in picture below).

Otherwise, did you try adjustig Far Clip?

Contour display on toposolid elements is controlled by the type properties. This allows you to use different toposolid elements to represent different site features of your design. For example: One toposolid type represents the general site conditions and displays contour informationjay_colcombe_0-1697182438349.png

. Another toposolid type representing a patio and sidewalk does not display contour informationjay_colcombe_1-1697182438349.png

To define contour display settings for a toposolid type

  1. In the drawing area, select a toposolid, and on the Properties palette, click jay_colcombe_3-1697182438349.png Edit Type.
  2. In the Type Properties dialog, click Edit next to the Contour Display parameter.
  3. In the Contour Display dialog define the contours for the toposolid type. Click Insert for each set of contour lines.
    1. Specify the Start, Stop, and Interval for the contour lines.
    2. Set Range Type. Use Multiple Values for a set of contour lines displayed at regular intervals. Use Single Value to establish one contour line at a specific elevation.
    3. For Subcategory, specify the line style for the contour lines.
    4. Clear the selection box for a row to turn off visibility of a contour range…

Excellent. You are right. I was not editing toposolid but toposurface.

Last question. I updated far clipping from no clip to far beyond the topo range. I am not seeing the edge of the topo. I know there are a lot of work arounds, but is there any options for 'profiles' to display?

Is it better to use clip with line and put a very large value in the far clip offset,
