Revit 2024 encountering fatal error following update

I recently installed the latest Revit update for 2024 (2024.3.2), and since then, often when I try to open a model or model template, it encounters a fatal error at 54%.

This morning for example, it hit 2 fatal errors before finally managing to open the template file.
I don't really have a culprit, aside from the update?

Any suggestions?

Switch on Audit when opening the files? If that doesn't work, disable add-ins.

If that doesn't work, examine the Journal files.

If it's a model that multiple users work in, make sure all have the same update installed. (workshared and non-workshared models)

I only have had once actual proof that it was update version issue causing errors/crashes in a model, after the team all had the same update version, no more errors (was in R2020 I think)

Otherwise after the crash or hanging, check out the revit journal, it might have a clue.

Also after errors clean the windows temp and the Journal location

And finally maybe recreate the central and don't override the old one (best to move the old one incl. it's backup folder)

and for all local files. This is to get rid of any partial file that revit might still use for those models. (aka clearing all cache so to say)
