Our office has encountered an issue with the print and native PDF exporting dialog boxes when using upgraded Rev it files and our upgraded company template.
(The Problem) When we open the Revit PDF exporter, we attempt to edit the selected views/sheets (pencil icon) the subsequent dialog box never appears so we are not able to export an entire set of sheets in Revit 2023. The same issue takes place with the print dialog box regardless of which printer is selected.
The support department ATG got us a solution within a day, so I though I would share the recap from the support rep on this forum for others having the same problem.
I also included a replication trick in bold below his instructions. See his detailed instructions and screenshots below:
[T]his is an issue that Autodesk has found dealing with upgrading files. They will send it to development for a full fix, but there is a workaround.
- Go to the View Tab
- Click on "User Interface"
- Click on "Browser Organization"
- Click on "Sheets" tab
- Click "New"
- Name it "All" and click ok.
- Leave all everything as is and click ok
- Check the "All" option
- Click ok
- Now do the PDF export and do the Select Sheets.
After following the instructions above: I opened our company template and transferred the Browser Organization standard (only) from the fixed project to my template. This instantly fixed the issue so I can save the file and never deal with the problem in that project or template again. You can do this to every subsequent Revit project or template you're upgrading for an instant and one time fix. I will add screen shots below:
- Open upgraded project or template
- While in newly upgraded project or template click "manage" tab
- Click "Transfer Project Standards"
- In the "Transfer Project Standards" dialog box, click "Check None"
- Now select ONLY "Browser Organization"
- Ensure that the "Copy from" selector is set to the fixed Revit file
- Hit "Ok" and test PDF Exported and Print sheet selector.
