Revit 2021 vs Revit 2024

Can anyone share their experience and thoughts about jumping from Revit 2021 up to 2024?  I really like the thought of using Twinmotion but not at the expense of a large learning curve between the 2 versions.

Thanks for any input.

none of the old functions disappeared. There just are a few new features or improvements to existing features. New or improved features usually make life easier.

The most noticeable difference is the icons looking a bit different. Some people have a hard time with that change.

I wouldn't even call it a learning curve.

But at this point I would just go to 2025.

Revit Version: R2026.2
Hardware: i9 14900K, 64GB, Nvidia RTX 2000 Ada 16GB
Add-ins: ElumTools; Ripple-HVAC; ElectroBIM; Qbitec

Has the API changed? Because recently were I work was given code that uses Revit2021 API with no problems, but the ported code to Revit2024 API seams to have problems. Not only the parameters are passed in different way and had to modify the code, but materials etc are not stored anymore

From API point of view is 2021 -> 2024 a huge step depending what's used.

Each version had significant changes.

See: https://thebuildingcoder.typepad.com/blog/2024/04/whats-new-in-the-revit-2025-api.html

Ps. I would post any followup questions about the api on the Revit API forum
