Hello,
I recently accepted a new job at an architecture firm that does most of its work remotely. They require that you have Revit 2021 installed onto our computers in order to properly work. I am using my schools laptop which currently has Revit 2020 so I tried installing 2021. It works fine when I use the Download Now option, I am able to install the manager and everything until when it comes to the actual software installation. An error pops up on the screen saying that it requires an Autodesk Genuine Service (AGS) .msi file. So I try to give it a path to find such a file. I am able to find the 86 bit AGS file but the install will not accept it. I tried looking for the 64 bit msi file but it does not appear in the download files. I am stuck, I've tried rebooting, redownloading, troubleshooting, and nothing has worked.
try to do a clean uninstall and reinstall again, but before you do that switch off all your anti virus program and firewall it could be Antivirus software is preventing the file from being installed and see if helps. thanks
You will need the msi file to uninstall too. I am currently trying to uninstall 2022 to reinstall but without that missing msi file I can not do it. Thanks Revit for being on top of this.
