Revit 2021 crashing when importing (linking) CAD dwg file

Hi.... Although I've achieved this before with no issues, I am currently unable to link dwg. files to a revit architecture model and when i try to do this i select the chosen file but revit just freezes then eventually says not responding. In this instance I am linking to a brand new model. I know the dwg file is ok as I'm using for studies and other students have linked successfully. I am using a windows surface pro and am housing my revit files in onedrive so assume this isn't a capacity or memory issue?

Any advice or thoughts welcome

Hai! You could try importing the dwg file to a new rvt file and then link the rvt file to the main rvt model file. so in this case you would avoid a lot of heavy and unnecessary lines from the dwg into your main model file.
