like I tell my team...do your updates please.
Hi there
When i'm installing the last update i see that message:
What i need to do? i don't know what folder or file search, when i click OK says this:
I get the same error, or similar as I have loaded my Revit on my J drive. Is there not an option to point the hotfix onto another drive just like when Revit asked to what drive to load it on?
I cannot install the update either :((( I can point it to an msi file back in the office but it does not like a VPN connection it seems...not very Covid friendly!
Cant install, error message 2203 ... https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XHLkTFpzRPQ2QiXgdoI4ciILF4tEUf2j/view?usp=drivesdk
Should these appear in the autodeske desktop app? They don't for me.
The following article explains how to successfully install the Revit 2021.1.2 Hotfix in instances where the user is prompted for the original RVT.msi file: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles...

I just tried installing it on a user's machine, and solved the RVT.msi issue - it still failed. Tried running it again, this time from her own laptop, instead of over a vpn connection, and that time it did not ask for the rvt.msi file, but rather said it it couldn;t complete becasue it did not have access to {office network path}\2021\RVT2021\Content
now.. the user totally did have access to that folder location... but why on earth was that even required to run the update???
out of 102 users i pushed the update out to, none of them succeeded. manually going to every users machine, running REGEDIT as an admin, finding their original build, downloading 10GB of content, from this thread, extracting/compiling the installer, then rerunning the update is not a viable option.
Why is the update not just written in a manner where it has what it need, or at least can find what it needs and get it for itself as part of the proccess? It feels like Autodesk is putting a lot of the work on the end-user instead of just making more user-friendly updates.
I agree with "nharburger" above. I have tried hard, many times, for so long to install the update, without any success.
Eventually I gave up. I have no infinite time, nor passions to try any longer.
For some reason (which I can't really understand) Autodesk have made the updating procedure, which is very simple in other applications, a real nightmare for Revit users.
I have had a similar problem in windows where the update .exe file was saved to my google drive. move it to the windows desktop and run it from there. worth a try.
