In Revit 2020, I have to manually browse to the material path every time I want to add a texture.
I've added the texture path:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Materials\Textures\2\Mats\
To the "Options>Rendering>Additional render appearance path", but when I go to add a new texture it opens up the path from "Options>File Locations>Default path for user files", which is "C:\BIM" in my case, where the local files get saved.
This was not the behavior in Revit 2019 and earlier. Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution? Usually connnecting the material path to "Options>Rendering>Additional render appearance path" solved the issue.
I'm having a similar problem.
project is on BIM360.
material library is on a network drive.
<guessing at what just happened>:
i opened another discipline's model that does not use the pathing.
when i then opened my architectural model the pathing (in options>rendering>additional render appearance paths) was gone. It also looks like material libraries other than the materials in the project are closed every time- I had thought these stayed open in a project unless they were intentionally closed, but maybe I'm misremembering.
It's possible that my permissions for this are restricted in some way, and maybe that's part of it.
Also BIM360, I don't know how people are handling material libraries there, and haven't found information on best practices yet.
however- regarding the individual material paths- once I added the path in options, and then also opened my outside material library, the individual material paths are restored.
