I'm not at all impressed with the new version of revit 2020. 2019 was working fine then I tried to install the new version, a third try, and it crashed upon opening after a complete clean uninstall of all Autodesk program. I do not understand why Autodesk would release such a buggy version if it was not ready. Also, I am not impressed with the way you handle licenses. I'm not a big firm and just starting but if I'm having these problems I'm sure others are too. Every other program seems to function normally. Does anyone have an opinion or the name of someone good with hardware/software of Autodesk local to north jersey?
This post belongs in the Installation and Licensing forum.
Next time you ask, try adding more details about how you are installing it, what happens, and leave out the complaining until you find the actual cause of your issue. It could be a local issue.
The OP is confusing at best. He seems to be indicating that there was a problem with the installation but the error suggests that the installation went fine and he is having a problem with a project file.
What is your problem exactly because I don't understand the issue as stated?
I apologize but it was not a local issue. after 4 days and consulting multiple technicians with Hagerman & CO and Autodesk it was found there was a licensing problem with my account on the Autodesk Admin side that was blocking the launch of all Autodesk programs of any version year. That problem has been since corrected.
Also, I had limited information at that time and was extremely frustrated with the situation everyone except one very nice customer service women at Autodesk was thinking it was local and not an Autodesk problem. I am sure if you could not access your tools, which are renting by the month or the year, paid for them and have multiple jobs running you would be screaming bloody murder too because your clients are relying on you to get the work done on time. This is four days of my life I will not get back and it was time I needed to continue my job search and studying for final exams. if anyone agrees please let know
How do you expect to get help when the information you provide doesn't describe the issue at all?
A follow up to my issue was I found out there was a problem with the account at Autodesk and not my computer. It took multiple calls to my supplier and Autodesk before I got to a rep at Autodesk who told me there was a problem with my license and I had to scream at Hagerman and company to get a result. be very aware that the monthly license is a problem and Autodesk need to change how it is handled on a continuing basis. So this was not a technical installation problem but an account problem.
So, why don't you mark one of your posts as the solution?
Agree with you!
Most of us would just download new version and not to figure out how to fix it, so it works. Yes, why to release, if not ready to go. Would save frustration for everyone.
I think that you missed the part that said it was a problem with the account and not with the software.
