In one project I'm working in, whenever I try to copy a view with detailing, an "unrecoverable error" or "fatal error" occurs and Revit is shut down.
I tested several things in the document where the error occurs consistently:
I also checked the following:
Does anyone know what could possibly be causing this and how to fix it? Or more things I can try to pinpoint what the problem is?

try to install latest updates from autodesk, try to tick audit before opening the file, clear as much as possible in your warnings and see if these helps. thanks
Hey, thanks..
1. is this a central file?
2. Can you try Auditing the file and see if it resolves this issue?
3. Is there a dwg underlay in the view you are trying to duplicate?
4. Is it possible to Purge unused (be careful with this one), and try if it works?
5. Can you remove any crop regions/ switch them off and try?
6. Are there any Plan Regions? Can you try deleting them and see if it works?
Let us know.. Cheers, K

Thank you for your reply!
1. is this a central file? Yes
2. Can you try Auditing the file and see if it resolves this issue? Didn't work.
3. Is there a dwg underlay in the view you are trying to duplicate? No
4. Is it possible to Purge unused (be careful with this one), and try if it works? I've tried this, didn't help, sadly.
5. Can you remove any crop regions/ switch them off and try? No crop regions are on
6. Are there any Plan Regions? Can you try deleting them and see if it works? There are none.
Thanks!
I made a copy of the file and just started deleting all elements with warnings. After that duplicating with detailing did work.
Now all I have to find out is what I can delete without breaking the model.
Thanks again.
Interesting.. If possible would you be kind to share the 'warning', that when deleted, solved this?

Apparently marking this as solved was a bit premature. After going through the errors again, this time the problem persisted.
Eventually I discovered that if I delete the attached detail groups in the view I want to copy with detailing, the problem doesn't occur. Any ideas why this is?
regards,
mmmh... I had something like this once..
Dont recollect what really solved it.. But can you share what was the Warning towards this specific Detail group?
Maybe that can help us investigate it deeper..

It didn't have a warning associated with it in the warning dialogue.
However, there have been warnings about the attached detail groups, but those are the type you have te resolve immediately. Such as having to ungroup and regroup, or deleting elements.
