I have never come across this issue before.
When working in my local file from home on my laptop (not connected to the server at work) my file won't save. I get no error message, Revit just becomes "not responding." I worked from home on Monday and the local file worked just fine all day and was able to save multiple times. Starting Tuesday evening anytime I tried to save my local file Revit became non responsive. In the office while connected to the network on Wednesday Revit was working normally with the same local file. I tested a different project and local file when I disconnected from the network and had the same issue where Revit stopped responding after hitting save, so it does not appear to be project/file specific. I discovered that if I reconnected with the network while Revit was not responding it started to work again and the local was saved.
I have worked offsite and offline for many years and have never had this issue. I uninstalled my Revit programs and reinstalled them and have had the same issue. At this point I am not sure if it is a Revit issue, a Network issue or a Windows issue.
Yes, that is why I referred to my file as the local. The central file is on the server at work, and the local is on my computer so i can work offsite and offline. Which I have done for 2 years with Revit 2017 and never had an issue.
