Hi All,
We are working on Revit Version 2019.2
I am finding that when working in Section/elevation views in the model they are incredibly slow, where zooming in and out takes a while to load.
Floor plan views etc appear to be working fine.
The model is approximately 160mb in size.
We keep 2d elements, detail groups and filled regions to a minimum.
Steps taken:
- Purged unused
- Model Audit
- Central file compaction
- Resolved most Revit warnings
- Deleted unnecessary views and sheets
Please can you advise if this is something related to our build of Revit?
Are we better off upgrading to Revit 2020? Our engineers have asked us to remain in 2019.2
Alternately please can you advise on further steps to be taken to help speed up the model?
Setup:
Revit 2019.2
Central file shared between 2 users. The central file is hosted on a locally shared network folder located on the other Revit machine as we do not have a dedicated server.
PC specs:
- Windows 10
- core i7 9700k
- 32gig ram
- Nvidia rtx 2070
- NVME SSD file based.
PC 2/Host pc:
- Core i7 8700k
- 16gig ram
- Nvidia gtx 1060 6gig
- Local file is on the Nvme SSD
- Central file - HDD file based
Thank you in advance!
Regards,
Craig

try to install latest updates from autodesk. untick use hardware acceleration from options. all user's must be in the same build because you are working with workshared file. clear as much as possible your error's warnings. tick audit before opening your file. lastly try to create a new central file and see all of these helps. thanks
Great tip!
Saved my day. I was experiencing the same problem and tried this. Everything works as normal now.
Thanks!
I am having the same issue, but I tried changing the far clipping and it did not work for me.
I am not in a work share file, and my file size is not very large. I have worked in the larger file sizes and have never had this problem. I tried purging all my unused items and that didn't seem to be the issue. I also tried working on a different computer and the file was still slow.
If anyone has a different solution or knows what the problem might me, it would be helpful.
