Hi,
We have updated to Revit 2019.2.
We have found that the software crashes consistently when loading a family into the project, if the active window in the project is a schedule.
The crash is total so there is no way of sending an error report.
Please can we have a fix soon.
Thanks for the ping @Avaris. ![]()
Hi @Anonymous
Can you please send me a journal file to test further?
Did this occur before the update? Is the issue specific to a user's machine/ model?

Hi @Anonymous
Can you please re-attach the journal files?
I may also need to see a data-set for further diagnosis.

I can send you a private upload link if you'd prefer that, let me know.

So the error window is not popping up like it should. As you cannot import families into a schedule anyway...It should have a window stating that you cannot load a family in that view...
It's a total crash with no processor activity after.
It's happened a few times when using 'Load into Project and Close' when the active window switches to a schedule, but it seems is not limited to that - apologies for mis-titling this topic.
Regarding family types, it has happened when using the Edit Family button and re-loading the family after edit, so not related to category.
Is there a solution to this? I've been having similar issues since I upgraded. I now save my model before reloading any families. This has happened on workshared and non workshared models.
Please log a support case with us and a specialist will be in touch with you!
You might have to provide more information like logs files, journals etc to test further.

Has Autodesk provided any information on this issue? We're having the same problem.
@Viveka_CD We are using the latest version of Revit 2019 and are still dealing with this.
Has this issue been investigated yet?
I've found it to be stable providing you don't use the load and close option and are only loading into one project at a time.
I am having the same crashing problem, but for me it also happens when I drag a window view to a second monitor, when reloading a family, sometimes when placing a family.
I am finding Revit 2019.2 very unstable.
Please help
@Viveka_CD Has Autodesk found a solution to this widespread issue affecting many people?
I am experiencing the same crashes when loading families. Crashes started after updating to 2019.2.2 version.
Mainly using " Load and close " family when loading families into host files. Will use other methods more systematically to see if Revit keeps crashing .
This problem only occurred after 2019.2 update. Crashes happen when a project has a schedule view active and user attempts to open a new family file. To avoid the crash, the user has to go back to a model view prior to opening any new family files. When Revit crashes, two things either occur: 1) the file is in perpetual load mode. If user attempts to access any buttons the screen turns ghost white with option to close file or continue to wait. 2) Revit just crash closes with no option to save existing work. Please investigate as soon as possible and ensure testing against a central model file.
I've found the issue occurs when you have more than one file open, either a project or family file and you have a schedule view open as the live view when you switch files. I've not managed to get it to crash when reloading families providing you only have one file open or you only load the family into one file.
Basically if you have a schedule view open/ live and more than one file it will crash when switching between files. The fact that Autodesk are blaming addins and corruptions in the files doesn't explain why all these files worked perfectly well before upgrading to 2019.2 and the crash still happens if you open the OOTB files which surely are error free?
My workaround is to only open one file at a time and to try to remember to close schedule views before opening family files. Not that I always remember!
2019.2 is very unstable in my opinion.
Having repeated crashes with schedules also.....almost unusable REVIT 2019.2.
...open a schedule change view crash
...open a schedule load family crash
...open a schedule move view tab crash.
Any chance of Autodesk fixing this or even admitting there is a problem and they are trying to fix it ??

Did we ever get a resolution on this issue? Revit 2019 is basically making working on Door Schedules impossible. 4th time today it's crashed on me switching from a Door family back to the schedule, with those two things the only things. Open. It dies just switching windows, the family does not even have to be loaded (or load/closed). This was not a problem on other releases.
