Hi,
We have a frustrating bug where local files seem to loose connection to the central file. Randomly 'Revit cannot reconcile the differences between your local file and the central model. You can find more information about the errors in the Worksets dialog' will appear, costing hours of work. This sometimes happens even if a user synchronised successfully 15 minutes before.
this is occurring across multiple files and multiple users (but always so far on the same project). it was fixed for a while after kicking all local users out, auditing, detaching and resaving the central file.
Journal file attached, if anyone has a
Are the users creating new local files every time they open the project?
Is this a cloud project?
Central file is on our own server, and yes, users are creating a new local file every time.
Is everyone connecting to the project on the server the same way? Such as J:\project or \\project\. If someone has a different drive letter or is using a full path to the file it will cause issues.
Everyone is using absolute paths with consistent drive letters.
We sometimes have an issue where Revit defaults to relative paths for links.
Local copies are kept in the default location (my documents).
Thinking about it, when saving over the central file this will have deleted the old SLOG in the recovery folder. Is a corrupted SLOG a likely cause?
When you saved over the central file....did you detach from Central first before saving over or open the local directly and save over the central file? I saw an error in the journal that the same local filename was being saved over the central. Detaching should reset all the backups...
Do the users have enough free space on their disk (C- drive)?
We've run into similar problems because there was only a couple of GB's left. We try to always have at least 15-20 GB free space. (We have large project files)
No, we overwrote the central file from a local, in order to minimise work lost. will detach and resave next time the error occurs, and will post results.
We too have large project files and find low C drive space a problem. These problems usually don't occur until the remaining space is more like 1GB. Ill check what happens next time the problem occurs.
The problem has occurred again on my PC, with 111GB available. I think i can rule out space being an issue.
Does anyone else have any further ideas?
