I'm an owner of Building Suite Premium. After installing 2018, I've noticed that all the suite workflow options point to 3d max 2018.
I've created a new suite workflow with the workflow manager, but the option doesn't seem to last after the computer has been rebooted. Als when I was able to see the new option before shutting down, I couldn't get **** to point to 3dmax 2018.
So how do I correct this? How do I get an option to last after the computer has bee restarted, and how do I get that option to point to 3dMax 2018?
Thanks,
Rudy Beucf

Hello @RudyBeuc,
Where was it sending it? Max 2017? Nowhere?
The send to functionality is based on a path located in the C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Synergy" folder. I have a couple links here that go over this in greater detail. Can you please try this for me?
I don't know a lot about the suite workflow manager, but it may be creating new synergy files that have the path to a different version in them. Here's a screenshot of my synergy folder, does yours have more files in it?

Hey guys,
I had already posted in the 3dmax forum about this issue. I had received an answer back in this forum which would have caused both Revit 2018 and Revit 2017 to link to 3dmax 2018.
I posted in the Revit forum because the customization I needed to do seemed to be on the Revit side of things.
Modifying my message and moving it to this forum was not helpful.
Thanks,
Rudy Beuc
Hey, thanks for the reply, good to hear form you again, but the issue is still the same. Please see my reply to the first message.
Right now both Revit 2017 and 2018 suite workflows point to 3dMax 2017. I would like to get Revit 2017 and 2018 to point to 3dmax 2017 and 2018 respectively.
Thanks,
Rudy Beuc
Hello @RudyBeuc,
I will transfer this thread back... the problem is the title doesn't really describe the issue so on first glance it does look like a Max problem. I will update your title and push it back.
To @Viveka_CD, this is a Revit problem having to do with a defect in the versioning pointer of the suite workflow out of Revit. Max is the app that it's sending to, but the sending functionality itself seems flawed out of Revit. From what I am seeing, the workflow manager code is still pointing to 2017 installations in Revit 2018. This likely needs to be logged and updated.

Hi @RudyBeuc
I'm sorry to hear that this option isn't working as per your requirement.
I will log this deflect regarding the workflow manager code which still points to 2017 installations in Revit 2018.
Let me talk to the development team here and let you know for updates.

Hi @RudyBeuc
I wanted to share an update with you!
The suite workflow option has been identified as a code defect and the following workaround is suggested till the issue is resolved. Looks like there is an issue with the the settings template in Revit 2018 which causes the workflow dialogue to point to 3dsMax 2017
Which 3dMax version will be invoked is decided by the third party component AdWorkflowHost.exe. This component location is specified in the.syncfg file in the \ProgramData\Autodesk\Synergy folder. So we can check if the file content is right. This workaround has already been suggested by @Alfred.DeFlaminis in the post you made at the 3dsmax forum HERE
I will follow up with the team for more updates.
