Revit 2018 - raytrace image to 3d pdf?

Is it possible to create a raytraced 3d view of a revit model and turn that into a 3d pdf that the client can rotate around on their screen?

Thanks

Sure. What not? You can't print to PDF?

Ah! Sorry. https://viewer.autodesk.com/

Sure, I can print to pdf. I can also print a non-raytraced view from Revit to a 3d pdf. But a raytraced view has most options (including the option to create a pdf, 3d or 2d) grayed out.

So again, anyone know of a way to create a *3d pdf* from a raytraced revit view?

Interactive Raytraced view is actually a 2D snapshot of the raytraced rendering. You notice every time you orbit, the view needs to be refreshed for brief moment, unlike with any other visual styles, including Realistic? That brief moment is when the raytrace engine renders the scene.

Your best bet is using Reaslitic view to create 3D PDF, or use Autodesk own DWF and upload it to Autodesk Viewer for viewing online.

Hi

Seems there are plugins available to achieve that..

there might be a way someone knows how to get that directly without plugins...

lets see..

Sample attached from that website..

Yeah, I've noticed that behavior when orbiting the view. Unfortunately, the Realistic view type doesn't give nearly as high quality output as Raytraced does (unless I need to tweak the settings for Realistic to achieve it).

Thanks for the info Toan

I checked out the plugin in your link. It appears to offer the same functionality that we already get from having Bluebeam in the office. However, I contacted the simlab people to see if they've specifically tried using their plugin on a raytraced view or not.

Thanks for the reply ganesh
