We are experiencing slow opening/saving revit 2018 or 2016 files on workstations since windows update 1809, on about 30% of our workstations the update causes this issue. slow meaning 5 minutes waiting to normal 25 sec. Every other function in revit goes without problems. Opening from a network drive or local disk makes no difference, worksharing yes/no no difference.
When we reverse to update 1803 everything is working fine again (unfortunately it took some time to find out that 1809 was the problem so we can't reverse all of them.)
the problem occurs random, there is no common factor that i can find. we have 4 different ranges workstations and they are in different locations/languages and in all of them it occurs
at the moment we have halted the 1809 update, but that is not a solution

No replies from Autodesk on this? We have the same issue. It's not just 1809 but 1803 with latest April 19 windows updates. The opening model the green status bar finally gets to gone then you get a spinning wheel of death.

If I quit Revit the journal file it consistently at the same spot.
hello,
autodesk has tried to find a solution but in the end there is no good answer, they do not know what the root cause is. There are more mentions of it on other fora, but beyond reinstalling the workstation no solutions
i am waiting for the next major windows update to see if that resolves the problem
Well waiting for update 1903 did not solve the problem. in revit 2018.3 or 2020.1 the lag in loading or saving a revit file remains 5 times slower then with a windows 10 1803 version
the only clue there is at the moment. when booting in to windows 10 safe mode the lag is only half as bad. It must be a windows 10 thing but which one
