recently i have installed revit 2018 and now i am having issue in it. The problem is that whenever i enter a command for doors or windows a message appears "no doors family is loaded in the project. would you like to load one now ?? and when we load it then the folder is empty although the wall family works fine its just the doors and windows that is causing problem. I have installed the revit 2018 version and it is a student license active for 3 years
Solved! Go to Solution.
A Wall family is a system Family, it's always loaded. Doors and windows on the other hand are loadable families. That's why Walls are working and Revit asks to load Doors and Windows families.
Just load a family if you need one.
You can probably locate some families that came with Revit, in the libraries folder. Depending on what Drive you installed Revit, you could look for (in my case it's C:\):
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2018\Libraries
If there are no folders present there, you didn't include them in your install.
To add libraries that came with Revit, read this article:
thanks man i am quite gratefull your answer is very much helpful to me
