Hi guys,
Just wondering if there are any current known issues when Worksharing a revit file in Revit 2017 & having users running different Windows software while working on the file?
IE: User #1 - Revit 2017 on Windows 7
User #2 - Revit 2017 on Windows 10
Thanks in advance!
@Anonymous hello, no issue. it will work. thanks
There definitely will be issues if users are on different windows.
Make them work on same windows either 7 or 10. Common issues are printing & text will vary.
Hi @Anonymous
Thanks for responding!
Reason I asked is because in our office we are having a ".dat" file error occur when I try to save to central (I am the user working on Windows 10) however my work colleague is not getting the error.
Any ideas on that? I've attached a screenshot...
Thanks!
Hi @Anonymous,
I do believe that we are working on this case. I got your feedback from IT team and will check with our product team and get back to you.
Thank you.

Though will request you to work on same windows environment.
Thanks for the link to that forum - however we've already tried that process with no success in resolving the issue.
Thanks for following up - please keep me updated on any progress.
@Anonymous @sureshchotrani We've been working a workshared file and I'm using Windows 10, two of us and the rest of the team are using Windows 7, so far we don't encounter any problem. The only problem may arise if the user's are in the different Revit program build. Thanks
Has there been any update on this issue? I have a client whose users have either Windows 10 or Windows 7, and they've noticed a significant drop in model performance once one of the Windows 7 users opens the model. They aren't able to upgrade everyone to Windows 10 at this time. Is there any way to get better performance for all users regardless of which Windows version they're using?
