Revit 2017. When closing a file Revit stops working

Hi,

Recently we have an issue with Revit 2017.

When we close a .rvt or .rte file then Revit stops working and closes. If there are more than one file open in a session there is no opportunity for saving the changes of any file.

This doesn't happen with .rfa files.

We get this message:

Autodesk Revit 2017a.JPG

Autodesk Revit 2017.jpg

Best regards,

Rafael

Not really much to go on since these are Windows error messages

Do you have the latest updates installed for Revit 2017?

I would assume a .rfa is relatively small to cause Windows to crash a software

Question:

  1. do you usuall have multiple sessions of Revit open when this happens?
  2. did you try clear the %TEMP% folder and perform a windows clean-up?
  3. are you sure you have enough memory physical/cash/random/virtual
  4. what kind of PC configuration/setup do you have
  5. did you try save first then close

1. I usually have only one session open, sometimes 2. I tried with one session and one project and also with project that didn't have any problem before.

2. I already did both

3. Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz

    RAM: 32 GB

Hard disk: SSD 850 EVO 500GB. Free space 180GB

4. What do you mean about PC configuration/setup?

5. Yes. Actually after this issue started happening we save before closing the file.

It seems that everything started with a Windows updates, because everything has been working fine until the beginning of this year that we started having the same problem but not at the same time, weird.
