Revit 2017 - title block issue/revision dates

Looking for help. Want to create a date on a title block seal that changes with each issue so the date is always the latest. I keep track of issues in the revision log, but the first issue doesn't have a delta, and therefore no number/alpha. No date shows up. I can put the original date of issue as a label in the block, but there would be two dates then. Is there an if/then or visibility thing I can do?

There is a Date/Time Stamp Parameter that you can apply to your titleblock. This will insert the current date & time each time you print. But I don't think I'm quite following what you're trying to do. Can you provide some screenshots of what you're trying to do?

Not a time stamp. I want one date to show up with the seal on the title block. One with each issue/revision. That's easy to do with a revision, as the current revision date parameter works. However,  if the revision has no number or alphanumeric, then the date doesn't show up. Our first issue to city/gc etc, isn't a true revision, but is kept track of in the Revit revision list. I can't use an if/then or visibility parameter in the title block because the fields are only active in the project. My work around is one date for original issue, and another for current revision on that sheet. Wish I could get the original date to show OR the current revision date on the sheet.

Our initial issuance has no number but we still show it on the titleblock. Why can't you show it?

Why can't your initial revision be set up in Revit as a revision? Assign it any revision number you want. Use the alphanumeric & numeric revision types to switch between the different revision number systems.

If you assign the original issue a number/alpha, then it shows up in the revision list on the TB. Don't want that, becaus etechnically, it's not a revision. Is the a way to filter on a revisionlist? I could filter out an A if I used that. We need to have a date next to the seal. That date changes every time you issue as it's the date of the issue, not the date of original issue. The date of original issue gets replaced with the first revision on the sheet. I'm looking for a way to only have one date appear.

That gives me a description in the title block I don't want.

And then, if there's no number/alpha, the date doesn't show as a revision. The left has a current revision, the right is just the original issue date - no revisions.

Where does the 05.13.20 come from?

That's the Current Revision Date parameter label. The 04.08.20 date is my own Date of Original Issue parameter label. I had to break it into two parameters since I couldn't figure it out.

Okay, instead of using None for your initial issuance, use Alphanumeric but edit the string, delete all and insert an Unicode (or several ones) so that they appear without numbers of letters, but still show as Current Revision date label.

Interesting! Didn't think of Unicode. I'll try it tomorrow and let you know. Thanks!

Well, I was able to use the Unicode text. However, the revision does now show up in the revision list on the sheet. And there's now way to filter it out.

Maybe we either do two dates on the seal or revise "Revisions List" to "Revisions/Issues List"

Thanks for the help.
