Over a RDP session (remote desktop/vmware/etc.) we are finding that our text notes are jumbled/overlapped. This is not the same as the new REVIT 2017 text functionality that changes the text size/alignment. This does not occur when using PCOIP or a non-remote session.
Windows Remote Desktop=jumbled text/overlapped
VMWare Horizon via RDP=jumbled text/overlapped
VMWare Horizon via PCOIP=working fine
This also did not occur in REVIT 2015 over RDP.
Any suggestions? We believe it is some graphic/display issue while using Remote Desktop Protocol.

Some additional info:
Our text display fine on the screen. Titleblock looks good. Text looks good.
When we make a PDF or print directly, the text is jumbled (with exception of view titles & sheet title)
I understand your text is not appearing as expected via remote desktop sessions in Revit. I contacted our development team on this and they pointed me to the below link. It appears that this may be caused by the Remote Desktop host software and Microsoft has issued a Hotfix. Please see Microsoft Knowledge Base for a solution; KB2768741.
Visual elements are displayed incorrectly when you connect to a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 by using the Remote Desktop Protocol

I hope this helps and let me know if you have any follow up questions or comments. Thanks for posting.
I’m just following up on my last post dated September 26th and wondering if you had an opportunity to review my questions and/or suggestions. I’d like to help you resolve this issue as soon as possible, so please review my previous post at your earliest convenience.
Thank you,
Not resolved over RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol). Text scrambled over Windows Remote Desktop and Teamviewer.
Works fine over PCOIP (VMware Horizon).
I just ran into the same problem over the weekend. This issue only occurs with 2017, not 2016-2014. It must be somehow related to the text changes of 2017 but I can't make sense of it.
As OP stated, the issue only occurs on printing. It appears to affects text only. In other words, schedules, tags, and labels in tbk are not affected.
Text displayed in Revit while working is not affected. As such, I do not believe the suggested hotfix will resolve the issue (MS specifically describes issue as 'visual elements are displayed incorrectly when you connect to a computer that is running Windows 7' and not to install hotfix if this is not your issue.
I tested using Windows RDP and Google Remote Desktop.
Did you all tried updating Revit 2017, see the built no of Revit 2017 and check at https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles...
Our office is all on 2017.1.1. I can't speak to whether this issue occurred on previous 2017 builds. Is there any reason to believe 2017.2 addresses this problem?
I can confirm that installing the Microsoft Hotfix does fix this issue (link in previous post from alan.quinn). This may be an issue isolated to W7 with Revit 2017, though I can't confirm personally.
On my end I was able to get the text to display properly after printing by lowing the resolution of the Remote desktop connection. Not ideal, but it lead me to a few new clues which got me to this thread. Hopefully the hotfix does it for me. Trying to get it from Microsoft right now, but not having any luck getting the download link emailed. Once I get my hands on it I can confirm the fix as well.
Thanks @jrichardsonERA for confirming:)
Confirmed! All of our machines are on SP2. Install the hotfix on the machines that we remote into and it fixed the issue. We can now print from Revit 2017 through remote desktop with good results. Thanks to those that helped me out with this.
Can anyone provide link to hotfix as I am still waiting for Microsoft to email with link to download hotfix. Thanks.
I am having this exact problem with text printing off scale, only I am using a Windows 10 computer to connect remotely to another Windows 10 computer. Running Revit 2017.2. Does anyone know if there there any hotfixes for Windows 10? Thanks
Hi @bearsley
Please see this article for Revit 2017, text issues on RDP
If you have a high-resolution monitor with a custom resolution, please reset the screen resolution to the default setting when you need to print.
Let me know if this helps resolve your issue.
