HI Guys,
While starting a project in revit 2017 by a template in revit 2014, the following error in screen shoot occur.
But no issue by the template in revit 2016.
Why ?

Maybe its cause there are more differences between Rv 2014 and Rv 2017 compared to differences between Rv 2016 and Rv 2017. You can probably upgrade, but gradually... I would suggest to:
Start a project in Revit 2016 by rte. 2014, then save new template as rte. 2016
Start a project in Revit 2017 by new saved rte. 2016
Even if ADesk says this should not be necessary, I don't expect that the direct upgrade works in every case... If this is true, it's understandable....

you should always upgrade your models and templates sequentially.
14,15,16,17 if you skip a version during the upgrade process it will always cause issues.
this also proides an opportunity to confirm the upgrade is working or not.
Aside from upgrading gradually, you should also Audit the file at each upgrade.
Additionally, since Railings and Stairs have new properties, you might need to create new types (in Revit 2017) to ressemble the old ones. You can use the old types, but you won't have full functionality.
