Revit 2017 - Suite Workflow "3Ds Max Failed to Open"

Hi,

I've noticed that the Suite Workflow for exporting Revit to 3Ds Max is not working. I get a "Failed to Start 3Ds Max" pop-up whenever I run the Suite. I realise there are workarounds but I'd like it if the out-of-the-box solution was working.

Is this something to do with my set up - 2017 Building Design Suite - or is this a general issue that others are having?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Craig,

Can you give us some more information on this?

Are you trying the Suite workflow between Revit 2017 and 3ds Max 2017? (The versions should be the same, although we may have a workaround, as our 3ds Max Area Forums specialist A.J. DeFlaminis notes in this thread.) In addition, could you please tell us what operating system you're using?

Thanks for your help, and we look forward to hearing from you soon!

Best regards,

Hi,

Thanks for getting back. Sorry for my late reply.

I am using BDS 2017 for both apps. When I hit the Suite Workflow I get a failed to open for 3Ds Max, see the attached image.

I'm using Windows 7 on a floating profile.

Thanks,

Craig

No. I'm trying to get it working as it says it is supposed to. I'll try with the open.

Hi,

Tried and still failed. I normally export as an FBX etc. but wanted to try the Suite Workflow option.
