Revit 2017 Schedules not updating

Is any one else having issues with schedules not updating in real time. I use schedules for my bracing, up until Revit 2017 when I placed a brace element on my bracing plan the schedules would update along with the totals. The only way I can get the schedules to update is by closing the project and re opening it.

@Anonymous

Close the application, then clear out the %temp% directory, then restart your machine. It seem the cache on your machine is full and needs to be cleared from memory.

Just emptied out the %temp% folder, restarted revit and done a test run, problem still persists.

I have attached two images, the first is named "Working Project" this is the schedules before I close the project, second is named "Refreshed Project".

The Schedule for brace line a is now reporting correctly I reopen the project. There is no rhyme or rhythm to what schedules are correct, it is all random until I reopen the project. When I work on a project there can be four or five schedules that are not correct (I used to fly through bracing, now I am having to spend time checking schedules) I rely on these schedules to give me a real time update on how much bracing I have on a brace line. About as frustrating as having lost Mental ray.

Have you audited/recreated a new central file?

I had it happened but way back when I used Revit 2013.  I need to refresh my memory to remember what I did to fix it aside from the above and close/open Revit.

Yes I have run an audit on my new project template file. It only happened once I went to 2017. I still have 2016 installed and use it on existing projects to avoid having to fix the txt up for 2017 and the schedules work flawlessly. Maybe it is an isolated problem that I have, may need to hold of for 2018 :). Thanks for your info though..

I am consistently having this issue as well.  I am in Revit 2017 MEP, and I am having this issue with Electrical Panel Schedules, Light Fixture Schedules, and also Keynote schedules (just to name a few).  Closing and ReOpeing Revit is the only thing that works AFAIK.

Is there a fix for this???

This could cause our company a costly problem if data is changed in the model, but it is not displaying / plotting correctly.

Thanks.

2018 is here and sorry to say I still have the problem, close and reopen the project is the only way I know of. Unprofessional and a hassle is what I would call it. Because of this issue I have lost confidence in my schedules.

Immediately after updating to 2019.1 I'm experiencing this issue - schedules to do not update on the sheet. I've cleared out the Temp folder, run CCleaner, closed and reopened the sheet, audited, and compacted the project file. Only re-opening the file updates the sheet. I am almost certain this was not happening prior to updating so I am submitting a support ticket as well, but thought I'd put it out there to see if anyone else has this experience with the update.

I think you'll find there is no answer, what fixed it for me was my annual PC factory reset and fresh install of all software.

HI

It is happening to me too... just after installing Revit 2019.

Please let me know if you found the fix for it
Thanks

I would suggest factory resetting your computer, i do it once a year, it resolved the issue for me.

Sure but this only happening only after installing R2019  ... I have both on my PC now hope this is the only reason why.

I've also experience this, not consistently but sometimes. Still very annoying(and potentially disastrous).

It's a workaround, but you can temporarily/manually change the Phase Filter of the schedule view. But really, this needs to be addressed by Autodesk.

I think I found a solution (except that you have to catch the issue in the first place):

I had the same issue and noticed that the schedule view was updating, but the schedule on the sheet was not. I deleted the offending schedule and placed it on the sheet again. Seems to work. Anyone else have luck with this?

That also works for me (Revit 2019). However, I'm not about to start deleting and placing schedules everytime I update area plans.... esspecially if I'm trying to keep the schedules aligned on the sheet.

This is incredibly frustrating, if schedules cannot be relied on to update, Revit is useless and might as well be AutoCAD if I have to start manually checking every piece of information in every schedule. This could potentially cause a very very costly mistake. Autodesk needs to fix this immediately!

Yes they are very unlikely going to listen to this, just make sure you close and reopen your project before printing. A factory reset of your computer and new install of revit will resolve the issue.

To clarify, once I delete and reinsert the table, the problem goes away. I have not had to re-insert the table again. I've had it occur twice that I can think of, once in 2019 and once recently in 2020. Does the problem come back for you in the same project?

I'm not certain, but it seems to happen when I use a project as a template. Example: Existing BIM360/collaborative model, save as a new local project (non-collaborative) then upload to BIM360 as a new project. The problem may or may not occur after doing this, but once I delete and reinsert an offending table (so far) the problem has not reoccurred in that project.

Just curious if you're seeing something different that I may need to keep an eye out for.

Restarting Revit 2019 seemed to fix the issue.

Still have to be extra careful issuing schedules moving forward...

I'm using Revit 2020 and have the same issue where my schedule will not update on the sheet even though it does recalculate within the schedule view. For what it's worth, rather than closing and reopening Revit, I've found that initiating a Revision Cloud immediately causes the sheet to update the schedule totals.  Not ideal but a bit more efficient.
