Revit 2017 not working after windows 10 update.

Windows 10 updated around June 5-6 of this year (2017) and now Revit and Inventor will not open up. What should I do?

@Viveka_CD Nothing worked at all. I tried the complete uninstall and reinstall route. I tried adding every Autodesk folder to Windows Defender Exclusions. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling all the C++ stuff and nothing. I don't understand what is going on. It doesn't make sense why nothing is working. I have sent multiple error reports to Autodesk. I hope something comes of those

Can you also send a recent journal to troubleshoot this behavior?

Where would I get the case number? I didn't get a chance to write them down, but I can share my email that they should be tied to. I contacted Microsoft and they gave me a download file for The anniversary edition of Windows 10 and now Revit works. I think I found the logs that you can take a look at, but I am not 100% sure I am pulling the correct ones. I hope this helps and we can figure out what is going on with my Autodesk applications. I also can't attach the journals

I uploaded the journals. I didn't take any screenshots of the error since it literally was blank with a yellow triangle with a "!" in the middle. No words or description. Just closed down after that.

Yes I have had this building design suite for autodesk 7 years.

windows and Autodesk does not play nice.

Resellers and chat makes worse.

I am trying to reinstall windows ten and the software thinking It was something I did .

building design suite 2018 issues causes the whole system not to work on three computers of different year my account period .

 

Since this has to do with run time which I can see the antivirus rejecting autocad  app even old one  while I try to use it.

 

 

What should I do when i install windows ten and try to install the software today or this month .

It seems reinstall and reactivation will not cure this issue.

What I ended up doing was contacting Microsoft and they got me a download for Windows 10 before the Creators update. That's the only way my Revit would work. Oddly enough, we got a new laptop at my office and it has the Creators update on it and Revit works perfectly fine. Something deep in my computer has got everything all screwed up

Hi @Anonymous and @Anonymous

 

Please take a look if you have not already, Autodesk software does not launch after installing the Windows 10 Creators Update & Defender, the options available to you are listed there. 

 

You can try to uninstall the update & reinstall followed by then installing Autodesk product, also keep checking the Microsoft update center to see there are some more recent updates/patches. 

Make sure you keep your products updated as well with the latest service pack or Hotfixes by visiting the Autodesk website or account
