Hi,
I've had Revit 2017 installed and running perfectly for a while now. And this was after I had to get over the hurdle of figuring out (thanks to this forum) how to get around the full content not being installed during Revit's installation process, so that is all good.
I then went on holiday from Revit (& work) and then last night, I launched Revit after not having used it since late last year (2016).
Now when I launch it, I get the following error message:
"The path you have specified for the default family template files is invalid."
I already found a post on the Autodesk site at this link, which goes over refreshing the path to the folder for the location that is not being found:
However, the issue in my instance, is that my entire default family template folder (which was English Metric - See path I shared below) is entirely gone. And I have never seen or had this error message before, ever since I installed Revit properly on my machine.
My default location is: "C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2017\Family Templates\English", however as you can see from the 2 screenshots I attached, that entire folder is missing. And I certainly did not make any changes in my File Location settings. Nor have I mistakenly dragged and dropped that missing folder into any of the other ones in that directory, since nothing has needed me to go and do anything inside that directory / folder. But I have checked anyway.
So, the next obvious question is how do I reinstate that entire folder to its original state, which fortunately for me was never altered for any reason.
I read / heard somewhere that you can download Revit 2017 content from the Autodesk website, and install the specific content you want / need during a fresh installation. I am just unsure if the same would apply to when a particular location just decides to go missing.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

The worst that will happen is that it will over write stuff. And you say that you have not changed anything.
