Revit 2017 Crashing when raising linked file height in a MasterCoordinates file

Dear Hivemind,

A colleague has rather belatedly decision a building need to be raised 100mm.

We use a MasterCoordinates file to manage our model positioning, publishing positions back to the linked in files.

Whenever I try to raise the linked in building by 100mm (or any height) I get the usual "save" request as the model position has change. But when I press Save I get a crash/save recovery file request...

Any clues. The building isn't particularly complex and only LOD3 (UK RIBA Stages)

Thanks in advance.

Craig

Hi @Anonymous,

Have you several reps of your building?

If not (the link is used only once in your master file), try changing the topo point in the linked file, then select the link in your master file and move to registered position.

Works for us.

PS: your bug is not normal, if I were you I would audit my files, and purge them, then try the adjustment again

Thanks. I did find a work around that wasn't ideal.

I used lock dimensions on the levels in an elevation and move them all up 100mm simultaneously. This then was reflected in the master coordinates file...

I know, very bad "Best Practice", but the clock was ticking and it worked.

I will go back and try your method with "save as" files to see if that is a better option for the future.

Thanks
