Revit 2017 crashing constantly

Morning,

Come in this morning for my Revit to constantly crash on me. So far:

- Using BIM Interoperability Extension crashes revit

- Using etransmit crashes revit

- Just openeing a file and then closing it crashes Revit

Have repaired and resintalled and software still crashes. Happens to multiple varying files so it seems to be a computer/software problem not file problem.

I exchange 32 revit files every friday that i need to etransmit so i need this fixing ASAP.

HELP PLEASE!

Regards,

Graham

What are your system specs?  How much hard drive space do you have?

I'd start by scrubbing the TEMP folder.

  1. Close Revit (and really anything else)
  2. Go to START -> RUN
  3. Type in %TEMP% and click OK
  4. That folder that opens in the TEMP folder
  5. Select everything in it and delete what Windows lets you delete
  6. Reboot (just because)

Fingers crossed for you

Hi Guys,

All fixed now, this article really helped https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles....

Turns out it was a corrupt extension, started with my essentials and it works for now so I will police later.

Much more help than the Excitech guys, cheers.

Graham
