Revit 2016 Startup freeze

Hi all 

 

I have a problem I have installed Revit 2016 student version but is not working.

When I start revit it showing window with revit and nothing else happening any ideas what should i do to make it working??

Welcome to the community!

 

One possibility is that the WSCommCntr4.exe process is getting hung up and locking up Revit 2016 as well.  In Windows Task Manager, go to the Processes tab, right click on WSCommCntr4.exe and choose End Process from the context menu.  Does that allow Revit to finish opening?

 

See more on this issue in this Autodesk Knowledge Network Article.  Note that different releases of Autodesk products run different versions of WSCommCntrX.exe, and that there will be a different numeral in place of the X character for different versions.

I havent got any think like that in my task manager.

You need to check here as some of the Autodesk product have issuses with .NET 4.6 which is used in Windows 10 OS.

I am having the same issue! None of the solutions in this forum are helpful for this situation. I had been using it just fine until about two months ago and they freeze at startup. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program and it still does the same thing.

I hear many having the same issue, can Autodesk reply as to how to fix it?

Thank you all for taking your time to write in this thread, 

 

I like the other comments so far and I agree that it's absolutely something interfering with the launch - especially because it happened after functioning smoothly. Have you tried looking at third party software installed around the time it occurred? Perhaps rolling back potential Windows updates from that time is worth trying out? 

 

I would always try to get Revit running as clean as possible, so disabling addins and extensions is a must in my book,
