Revit 2016 Issue

We have a user that is trying to open a file in Revit 2016.  When she launches the file it just sits and spins.  She is able to open other files in Revit.  Other users are able to open the file file from other computers.  Users are not able to open the file from the computer affected.

User was able to open the file last week without issue.

Check the user's hard drive space.  There may not be enough free memory to open that particular model.

Thank you, mpwuzhere. I have come to that conclusion as the free space is very small on the user's computer. I am working this afternoon to see if I can free up disk space. It appears there is about 10GB of data referring to old files with AutoDesk can these be pointed to another drive?

To free more space on the affected machine -

1) delete all locals

2) delete all Temp files

3) empty Recycle Bin

4) restart

The other solution would be to fix the user's profile.

Hi @Anonymous

I see that you are visiting as a new member! Welcome to the Autodesk Community! Smiley Happy

See HERE for recommendations to improve the performance of Revit.

A journal file could help us troubleshoot the issue

You can try re-launching Revit with add-ins disabled
1.  Close Revit.
2.  Locate the following folder:
    C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\[Version]
3.  Temporarily move the add-in files from the folder above to another location.
4.  Launch Revit; add-ins will be disabled.
