Revit 2015 file got larger after purge

why does the .rvt file gets larger after you purge?  this time the file got bigger by 892kb.

Hi @arkitek2ss

Are you working on a central model, if that is the case then check compact central model when synchronizing to central.

Does the same issue occur on another machine?

Also checking if you have the updates installed - you can get it from the Autodesk desktop app or by finding it in your Autodesk Account

it was at one time.  went to open the central and 'detached from central' and saved it as a stand alone model. *2018.001.rvt

then purged the stand alone *2018.rvt

side note, someone edited the title but the model is a 2015 .rvt file.  (2018.rvt was the end of the file name with todays date).

When you do a Save As, the new file size is reduced considerably due to the compression of database.  After that, if you purge, the file size may be reduced a little bit further, but after you do a normal save, it is likely increased due to the uncompressed database.  The bottom line is not too worried about it.

@arkitek2ss I'm wondering if the size is same when you have Revit open and closed. Please save and compare the results. There have been instances when the files size grows if Revit is open and multiple links present in the project.
