Revision schedule, again

Hey Everyone

I'm stil dealing with the same problem I had a few days ago with regard to the Revision Schedule. I'll attach an image to show you what I mean.

The Revision Schedule populates, but then there is a graphic mess at the bottom with the text and the table lines. I have tried going into the Titleblock to edit the schedule, under Appearance, Height and changed it to "variable" this does not help as there are still lines through the last few words of each revision. I have found a link that says it can fix this problem, but I have no idea where to go with it: http://rugsyd.com.au/RTV_Help/RTV_DM_Titleblock.htm

If someone could give me a hand or some ideas I'd be really grateful.

I'm not sure if this can solve your problem. But I think it is the Appearance settings of your titleblock <Schedule: Revision Schedule>. Text has no limit settings; hence; as long as you type it will Wrap and extend over the other rows; however the outlines (of the rows) do have settings.

1. If it was set to variable, then you need to resize it manually
2. If it is set to User Defined it will resize with the text you type

If you Revision Properties Dialog;

1. Uncheck Outline box - Revit will manage it as Revit sees fit withing the constraints/limits of the Tilte Block ie: the number of rows will stop once you reach the bottom limit of the Title Block. And for further revisions to be added you will need to resize/stretch the title block.
2. OR if you keep Outline Checked and Reset the Outline Height to <User Defined> instead of Variable.
   • the rows will resize as per text but once you reach the limit no. of Rows which the current title block can accomodate; the older revisions will be scrolled out (say 4 roms was the limit listing revisions A B C and D; with the fifth revision added you will have B C D and E showing - Rev A will not be deleted but hidden.
   • To show the hidden revision; you need to resize the Title block. See Screencast
     • Note: I personally hide out Revisions older than X number (last 4 revisions) or Y date... But if you want to keep them you can resize the title block...otherwise they will still be there in the Revision list just not on the sheet

This happens when you have extensively long text in the discription.

Hi @RDAOU I followed your advice. I also then checked by using really large text font sizes to see what would happen, anyway, maybe everyone knows this already, but I did find something new ( for me anyway). If you are in the Title Block family, to edit it, and select the Revision Schedule, you can change the Font size under the Appearance ribbon at the top. However if you select the schedule to edit it you can do the same, and oddly enough, the same names are used: Appearance etc. Basically I made both fonts on both options the same size. This sounds very logical to the point of being obvious. I just didn't realize this before. Thanks once again Regards Lauren

I have a new challenge for you. Still with Revision Schedules. Please see the attached PDF file. 

I would like my revisions to read numerically:

2.

3.

etc. So every point is on a new line  within the revision. 

Is this at all possible?

Unfortunately...till date that is not possible. Those fields are single line text and its coded that way with no options to change of format it.

It's a good point/idea though 🙂
