Hi,
Im trying to issue revision for a project i have, my issue is that it seems you can only issue one description per sequence.
In Architecture, i beleive you should be able to cloud and descibe the change undertaken PER SHEET under the same revision. For example, sheel A03 would have a cloud revision for sequence B and description 'Bathroom layout updated" and sheet A06 will have Sequence B but description "foundation size altered".
Is there a way through Revit or Dynamo to make the Description column a variable text?
Thank you
Have you tried using the "Comments" parameter?
You can give a general description at the revision itself, such as "requested by client" or "due to interferences with structure" and at each cloud, describe it at the Comments parameter.
Unfortunatelly, I don't believe you can overrun the revision settings through Dynamo. Maybe you could use it to populate some sheets parameters, and create some labels at the sheet family to show those cloud-unique descriptions. It would still be outside of the revision table itself, but maybe is a workaround that works for you.
Hi,
I don't get the point in manually typing every revision one every sheet. ( your "variable text" sounds like text object or detail family to me
)
In my opinion description is the revision and revision number or letter is determined by the sheet its placed one.
In conclusion i wouldn't create "dummy" revision table on sheet to bypass intended use of revisions one revit ![]()
