Reveal on end of wall

I am trying to use a void sweep or void extrusion to add a reveal to a wall end:

But it won't permit it no matter what I try.

Why don't you use Wall Reveal tool and turn on Return for the reveal to cut the wall end?

If you want to use a void family, then you need to place it twice, one on the wall, and another on the wall end.

Is there a way to get the return grip exactly on the corner? The return seems to disappear unless I manually drag the grip slightly proud of the wall

If you don't have a wall from the other direction then you can drag the return grip dead on at the corner to cut the wall end.

If you have two walls at the corner then no need to use return, just pick the other wall to add to the wall reveal.
