Revals on walls issue (cannot create "partial lenghts" reveals)

Cannot create "partial lengths" reveal that do not span the entire wall:    I created a profile of a reveal that I can insert into a concrete tilt up wall elevation plane the entire length of the wall and a:lso the entire height from top to bottom of the wall.  The problems arise when I want to insert the reveal on only one part of the wall, like from the top of the windows to the bottom of the wall, and then also if I want to add a reveal below the window, let's say, 2 feet below the window and that is the same width of the window and which spans from the reveal on the left of the window to the reveal to the right of the window.  Somehow the reveals automatically wants to installs it the entire length of the concrete wall plane, and would not let me select its starting point and its end point.

Is this an issue that can be avoided by a setting somewhere?

That's not typical. You should be able to grab the blue dots at ends of reveal and resize.  Post the file. Let's see what's up.

Select the reveal and use the blue grips to stretch it.

The exterior wall is long and has a lot of exterior openings.  The initial reveals all (i.e., each one) has to go all the way from one end of the wall to the other.  The profile reveal would not let you start at one desired point of the wall and end in another desired point, but will automatically go from end to end.  To add insult to injury, then the reveals that go thru the openings are broken up and have a lot of blue grips on each side of the openings, and these are hard to pick sometimes if there are already some other reveals on the drawing, and hard to stretch.  One workaround is to just do one shorter reveal away from the openings, you stretch it to make it smaller with only two grips, and to "copy" it several times to different places of the wall, and even between the openings, and then you have to manipulate and "stretch" each individually, etc.  The process is laborious and time consuming, and as the reveals grow and so the size of the drawing, the grips are harder and harder to pick and stretch.  Seems that the "reveals" creation, thought not impossible, still need refinement and improvement.

Maybe Sweeps aren't the only way to do what you are doing. You ought to post your file.  Perhaps we can suggest some less "laborious and time-consuming" approaches.

If you want the reveals lengths independent from the wall segments then use a line based family with void and cut geometry instead reveals.

Not sure what is the difference between the profile that I have been using and the line based family with the cuts.  Are these not the same?

Reveals are very commonly used elements today in the architectural construction industry with all these stuccoed buildings, so I am surprised about its limits and how buggy it is to use on the program at this point.
