Retrive geometry dimensions then use in a formula

Hi. I am setting up a bracing attached to a 150mm horizontal member. The thickness of the bracing is determined by the thickness of the horizontal member. I have aligned the profile so Revit will automatically adjust the thickness of the bracing (in this case it's 130mm). Now I need to extract the thickness of the bracing (130mm) to be used in a formula.

The BracingSideTh is a reporting instance parameter which cannot be used in a formula. What would you advice?

Thanks in advance.

Simple. Don't use a Reporting Parameter. Instead label the Dimension with the exact same parameter that drives the horizontal member.

...if it isn't that "simple", then provide a more robust description of how the family is built -- or just post the family here.

...oh, and if you need the horizontal member's dimension parameter to "report" in Project Schedules, then make it a Shared Parameter.

...hmm...guess not. Might be cheaper to miter uniform thickness members.  :zwinkerndes_Gesicht:
