Render Problem

Hi all,

I was rendering to cloud and even on just the basic settings the window pops up to say continue in background. It then disappears and Revit shuts down. I've tried a few times but still the same outcome. Is anyone having the same problem?

Using Revit Architecture 2017.

Thanks for any help,

Tomas

Just dropping in to say the renders are actually being rendered as I got an email showing me the finished picture. It just wont stay open any time I render to cloud. Strange.

Hi @Darragh98

Can you confirm if you have installed the latest updates for your Revit version?

To install updates, open the Autodesk desktop app and click My Updates.

Hi Viveka,

Sorry for taking so long. I updated Revit and the same problem occurs. A message came up saying Revit couldnt render as a problem came up.

It still goes off after starting to render in cloud. Any more ideas?

Thanks for your time,

Tomas

Hi @Darragh98

Thanks for getting back.Smiley Happy Good to know that your updates are in place!

Sorry to note that you are still facing errors. Can you send a screenshot of the error message displayed?

Are you signed in to your Autodesk account?

If you install any recent add-ins can you disable them before relaunching revit?

See this link HERE for a render in cloud error and a recommended solution.

Hi Viveka,

The error message came and went to quickly and I couldn't get  a screenshot of it. I tried opening a different project and still the same. It prompted me to save the changes I made to project and I noticed the render was actually in cloud being done, I ticked the email me when rendered so I think it still renders but closes the program. I just tried the removal of add in folder and that didnt work so when it was closing I was able to get screenshot.

Hope you can figure from the attachment,

Thanks again,

Tomas

Hi @Darragh98

Which version of Revit are you using?

This error is specific to a special character in file name that leads to failure of creating the reference.

Following characters are not allowed in file name due to security:
#?{}^~[]'@$!%

Please rename the file if you have special characters.

If you still experience errors, I can share a private folder with you to upload a file to test.

Let me know.

2017 just updated to 2017.2

I don't know what you mean by file name? As in what name I save a project under? If so none of those characters are in them.

Hi @Darragh98

Does the error occur even after you installed the updates?

Please see HERE for more information on special characters and recommendations.

Also look at this article for troubleshooting tips on the cloud

Let us know if you were able to resolve the issue, if not I recommend that you do a clean reinstall of your Revit version.

Seems to work grand.
Just a matter of the new UI to get to grips with.
