A few (but not all of us) in the office are having an issue this morning with the rendering appearance library. The first attached image shows what I see when I try to replace a material, a miniaturized version of the swatch layout inside the Library window. We're current with Revt Arch 2011 on xp pro 64 bit machines and haven't noticed this before.
The second image shows what was a clean slate of Render Appearance paths, this is not how I remember it, and I added the original C:\Program Files (x86)\Autodesk Shared\Materials...Mats path back. Is this related to the first issue or separate but equal(ly disturbing)?
Is there a bug in here somewhere or what?
Thank you for the attached images. On the first image, I have come across similar behavior which can typically be resolved by one of the following steps below:
1. Update the workstation graphics card driver to the latest supported version from the list \ link below:
Graphics Hardware List : http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=14984958&linkID=14984968
Driver Download : http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/hc?siteID=123112&id=6711853&linkID=9240618
2. Verify the following technical solution, as this behavior often accompanies the crash or hang:

Regarding the second image, this is how the default installation should appear [blank]. The material paths, in the 2011 release, are fixed to the shared material library at:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Materials2011
This path does not have to be added to the list. You should only need to add additional locations where you may keep image files, for example, used in the render appearance of project material[s].
Please let me know if you should have any follow-up questions on this issue.
Thank you,
Hi Ryan,
I'm using Revit 2013, so is the the material paths, in the 2013 release, by default are fixed to the shared material library at:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Materials\2013 or
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Materials\Textures?
And I do i still need to add the path to the Additional Render Appearance Paths list?
Thanks for the help.
