Hello all,
I have a work-shared project (central model) and I want to rename it.
Is there any 'correct' way to do it?
I have to options in my mind:
1. Detached from central and detach and preserved worksets..after save as with the new name.
2. Just Create a New local from the Central model > save as > Options : Make this central model after save' >and save the file with the new name.
The result seems the same. Is there something that I should pay attention?
(I want also to keep a backup with the previous central model but I will move it in another folder).
Thank you in advance!
Both ways that you mentioned will give you the result that you want.

Ideally you would do neither option 1 nor option 2. You would do that from the central after everyone syncs. The 2 links posted by @martijn_pater describe in detail the proper way to do it.

All of the above methods work equally well. Whatever method you choose, it is important to notify all team members of the change so that they don't continue working in the old file and have to redo their work in the new one.
