Hello all,
Is there a way to remove all of the legacy material assets? Additionally, how would I go about adding my own into the asset browser? I am trying to get our office to all use high definition textures and assets by adding our own into the browser and reducing the chance that the old ones will be used. I was thinking about just creating materials for each of the textures that we use, but then I would be putting way too many that they may not even use into our template file, creating a bloated template. It would be nice to make it so they can only use the nice assets that I approve from the browser if they need to make a new material.

Bummer about removing the assets. Okay, so another question for you then. I just realized that I can create a new Material Library. So will only the materials that have been added to the project materials form the material library affect the overall size of the file? The appearance assets that I want to use are 3k resolution and I worry that having too many of them in the file will kill the performance and increase the file size tremendously.
Also, I have created a few new materials with our high def textures and they still have the legacy orange exclamation point on the thumbnail. Why does it say that my custom materials are still a legacy asset?
Lastly, what does the Additional render appearance paths do?
Thank you!

Because you started from a Legacy asset. Choose one of the PBR Assets under Misc. Category to customize.
This is great! Thank you for sharing this link. I'll go through it and see what I can do.
Any thoughts on the other parts (i.e. file size and Additional render appearance paths)?

Sorry, I'm not sure what your are asking about. File size of what? Your adsklib file? That wouldn't have any impact on on the model file.
Regarding additional image paths:
.
Basically I just don't want our models to be overloaded with huge material sizes. That's good the the library wouldn't affect it. Now, just to confirm a dumb question, all of the materials that I do add into the project materials would affect the file size, right? Just like with any loaded families? Meaning if I have a 20 assets that are 2 MB each, it would increase the file size by (roughly) that amount altogether?
I read that about how to do the Additional render appearance paths, however I think I'm just unsure what this would do and how this helps.
