Hi All,
I'm currently trying to troubleshoot an issue where we are using Remote Desktop to access Revit. The problem is when dragging the Properties Browser or other dock-able windows the outline is horribly inaccurate and the window will be dragged off screen or a considerable few inches off of target. This is only happening with one of my users computers and is isolated specifically to the dock-able windows. Revit as a whole drags fine and so do other programs.
Does anyone have any ideas for what could be causing this? I've now install/re-installed everything from video drivers and Revit, explored all setting options for Remote Desktop and am now at a complete loss.
Thanks for any help you can offer.
Nick

Hi @Anonymous
It's been a while and I'm checking back to see if the issue has been resolved yet.
Can you confirm if the user is using a different windows theme and can revert back to the basic theme?

Thanks Viveka,
We tried changing the themes from basic (and even a few other options). What this did seem to correct was the outline as it now followed along with the mouse drag. However, when we released the window would be dragged to a different location from where the outline suggested.
Hi @Anonymous
Can you send us a picture or screenshot if possible? It will help us understand better and I can talk to the development API team and we can see if this issue can be replicated.
Cn you confirm if all your updates and latest hotfixes for your Revit version are installed? Any new third-party applications installed by the user?
I'm also wondering if this can be related to a windows setting or a scaling issue.
Also, can you please compare and check the settings and scaling on a user's machine that has no issue with the problematic machine?

It will be hard to replicate with screenshots but I'll do what I can and follow up. I have updated 2016 and now installed 2018 with the latest patches and the problem has carried over to the new version. The settings match our other machines and is unique to this PC. Are there certain scaling standards I can reference to make sure everything is on par? Next step is to just re-set up the computer and see if that doesn't fix anything.
Hi @Anonymous
Glad to hear that you have all the updates in place.
Please take some pictures and send, it will help us get a better idea of the issue.
Also, take a look at this blog HERE to fix remote desktop DPI scaling issues.

Thanks, after installing 2018 and finding the problem remained I went back and revisited all my scaling and updates in the link you had shared. I reset all of our settings and re-placed them back to what was recommended and it managed to resolve this issue.
