I am currently detailing a project for an architecture class and we are using the "reference other view" tool when creating a similar section. I have sections that cut through a two story building; however, the similar section only shows up on level 1 and not level 2 like the other section, even though it is cutting through the whole wall. Is this normal for architecture documentation? or is something wrong with my referenced section? It seems to me you would want the similar section on both levels too right?

Yea, so this door section for example cuts all the way through to the parapet, but the Sim section isn't visible on level 2. Just wondering if this is standard documentation practice, or if I need to change something to get it to appear on level 2 as well.
When you select "Reference Other View," the section item acts like a detail item and does not show up on other views, such as levels above, even if the plane of the original section view goes quite high. Think of the Reference Other View section item as a detail item: since it is not truly showing a section where it is placed, it only knows to show itself exactly where it is placed.
It doesn't say "SIM" because it's the Parent Marker. It shows in both Level 1 and 2 Plan Views because the Marker's View Crop Boundary encompasses both Levels. Go to Elevation View perpendicular to the Marker, select the Marker to "see" its View Crop/Far Clip Boundary...
