Hello,
In our project we must to take the breakthroughs(Revit family - category window) from the mep ingineers and put that family into ours revit model but there is one thing. In every plan that we have we must show the sill height of the breakthrough from the ground floor ( 0 level ) so when I copied the family from mep into our model per (paste in the same place or aligned to current view) I always get that revit automatically calculate sill height from current view and that it's not the same as in the mep model.
Is there any option in revit that I can copied that family from the mep revit file without losing the sill height measuring from the 0 level?
In atachment you can see the family in mep model and in the architectural model.
Thanks

Try to use "Aligned to selected level" during pasting instead.
Hope it helps
I also see that the reference level between the two images are different. I think the MEP model used the level 0 for window but in reality the window was located at level 3. I think there something wrong with the reference level for window in MEP model.
But if you want your model to be exactly the same with the MEP model. First check the reference level of the window then during pasting select the "Aligned to selected level" and choose the same reference level as the MEP model.
If you are pasting several window. Try to grouped them first and follow the process above.
Thanky you man....I tried "Aligned to the selected views" and "Aligned to picked levels" and both options work...
but it works only if I linked the mep model into the our model...
It doesn't work when I have opened the both files mep and arc...then it puts the breakthrough into the 0 level but not on the 3thrd floor..
Do you know maybe the sollution how to fix this?
Thanks again..
Yes I want to show the same reference level for the families as like in mep model.
Everything is working when I link the mep file into the arc file and then when I copy from mep file using "aligned to level" it works but in this case I could only select one by one model elements from mep model...
Is it possible that I select more then one element from the mep model without using tab taster "each by each"?
Thanks
I tried.Unfortunately the family is hosted and when I wanted to create the group it automatically bring the walls with family....
But your advice is quite good for some other things...thanks
- Open the Mech file, go to a 3D view, select all instances of the window and copy to clipboard.
- Go to the Arch file, go to a 3D view, paste aligned to selected levels, and choose level 0.EG
