Recessed can lights - edit family in section

Both these photos are in elevation. One is inside the actual light (in section). How do you do that?

Move the light source.

Open an OOTB Recessed Can Light and see how it is controlled through the use of a parameters. Light Source Symbol is locked to a Ref. Line. You could also control the location of this Ref. Plane relative to the floor, or bottom of can, or whatever - effectively moving the Light Source Symbol with it because it's locked the Ref. Plane. Additionally, note that Light Source Symbol has a "Distance" property (e.g. the length of the beam cast).

If you want to see the light in its family like picture 2, then try to change your visual style from Hidden line (Picture 1) to Wire-frame (Picture 2).

If you want to see the light source (Yellow Lines) In your views like section in the project, then mark the Light source icon in your visibility & graphic window.
